Just a Salty Dog!

All it takes is a beach
a ball
and
little ol' me.

Just try and catch me, Ron!
You know, I don't stay still.

Always kicking the ball
to get my attention.

and having a great laugh...
at my expense.
This guy is always laughing 'with' me!

Jim however shows me respect by throwing the ball into the ocean.
He knows I like to swim and fetch.

Just call me shorty-haired, sandy, salty dog...!
(I love alliteration)

Dawn of a New Week!

Could I be anymore ecstatic,
when the guys said...
'we are going to the beach for an early walk"

We usually go after all the blogs have been read,
after all the comments have been answered,
after all the "did you read so and so's post today?
Too funny or whatever"

A change in momentum and daily routine
is/was needed....
so Ron dropped the idea
and everyone was totally game.

We arrived to discover lots of beach sand and
plenty of room to walk and run....

Needless to say, I was in the water pronto,
and the guys kept walking and snapping pictures.

This is just the beginning.....
there's more
there's always more!

FreshClean.... Swim

We are proud of our harbour water....

because it is fresh and clean...

and allows me to swim...

fetch and retrieve

without the worry

of getting sick.

I am thankful for the city's efforts....

for they built three treatment plants

which handle the sewage

for the city of Halifax,

the city of Dartmouth

and Herring Cove...

This has been in the waiting

for a very long time...

Thanks to all those that were involved
in any measure.....

Thusly....my new header....Enjoy!

Heat & Humidity

The sunlight between 2 and 3pm can be so intense,
so my guys figure
that if we are going to be outdoors
then we should be
carrying H2O and walking in the shade.

I totally get them,
I understand that the UV rays are penetrating
and can cause major health concerns.

so being aware and ready
is so important for immediate survival.

We hydrate before we begin our daily sojourns
and we rest whenever certain symptoms flare up.
These concerns have been foremost
in our thoughts this summer
because we've had
a very unusually
hot and humid season.

Haircut Reverie

I lay still and peaceful awaiting for the inevitable...

Every 4 months the time arrives,
so very quickly
for my transformation

Do I have any say in this major decision-making?
Ahhhh...I guess not....
but after thinking about it carefully
from all angles...

I really do like getting a haircut because
I get loads of treats
and
I feel lighter.

Besides my coat looks and feels like velvet....
seriously....I wish you could stroke my freshly shorn locks
and you'd see why a haircut is the best choice every 4 months!

Up the Slope Pt 3

and would you look at what was in front of us
as we sat on the edge of the hill

.....with the warm south winds bathing us.....

Just on the hillside above these kiteboarders
you find us.....
with our noses to the pedal,
trying to find BlueOuterSpaceBall...

with Cynthia laughing at our industriousness...!
no really, she is having a super time
and thinks we are the funniest people/dogs on the planet!

These kiteboarders are outta control...

but not us...we are  just grooving along enjoying our chance encounter

and so is Jim.

Time seems to stand still and fly by at the same time!

but Mocha has her eye on Ron...
not letting him get away with anything!

There is one last
 tete a tete
and nose snuggle

before we head down the hill
back to our cars
and
into the far beyond.
